North Carolina Hunters for the Hungry, Inc. (NCHFTH) is a nonprofit 501(c)3 that exists to facilitate the collection, processing, and distribution of legally-harvested and processed white-tail deer for the purpose of feeding food insecure North Carolinians.
We do this by:

-
Maintaining a list of participating processors to facilitate the donation of legally harvested deer
-
Onboarding new eligible processing facilities
-
Compensating participating NCDA-compliant meat processors across NC to process deer donated to NCHFTH by hunters on a per-deer basis
-
Connecting participating processors with local hunger relief organizations
Why? Two BIG Problems:
Deer Overpopulation
Food insecurity
America's deer population has increased from 20 million in 1990 to 33.5 million in 2017, with about 1 million in NC.

Crop damage sustained by farmers and deer-auto collisions have risen dramatically.

Food insecurity describes a household's inability to provide enough food for every person to live an active, healthy life.

North Carolina is the eighth hungriest state in the nation-- 1 in 7 adults and more than 1 in 5 children struggle with food insecurity.
